China tours for seniors from Laurus Travel are your best bets!
As a China tour company with 25 years of experience (since 1998), we have been a top choice among Canadian and American seniors seeking high-quality China travel experiences. We run our China tours in a small group environment (20 participants maximum) with a strong focus on culture and history. Our guides are simply the best having been carefully screened and tutored by company owners, one of whom used to be an English-speaking tour guide for 8 years in China (1985-1993).
Our luxury China tours have been well received in the marketplace. You can find lots of reviews on us on Tripadvisor and elsewhere on the Internet. Laurus Travel has been consistently rated A+ by the BBB and we are the only Canadian China tour operator recommended by Frommer’s – you can find our name in every edition of Frommer’s China guide.
Our China tours for seniors are not for everyone. We only offer premium tours and the prices show it; budget travellers are not our target audience. We require our participants to be both mentally and physically fit, free of any mobility issues due to the very active nature of our tours. We take the effort to screen and educate our customers so that only friendly and respectful customers get to travel on our tours; this is a major factor that customer satisfaction among our guests has been consistently high and an important reason they keep coming back to us.

Subject: Jack and Carol Tour Review
We recently returned from a fabulous 21-day tour of China led by Jacob from Laurus Travel. This tour more than met our expectations and that all began with our initial phone calls to Laurus. Heather, Yuki, and Heidi answered all of our questions and helped us customize our trip. Their input was invaluable.
Jacob was so informative! He shared his personal stories about life in China, he made us feel welcomed and safe, he made us laugh, and he took very good care of us. We hated to say good-bye to him.
We loved the small travel group, the additional local guides, no “forced” shopping, and the optional evening activities that highlighted the cultural aspects of each province. The hotels were luxurious, the morning breakfast buffets were delicious,, and the high-speed trains were the perfect way to travel between cities. We avoided the long lines at each venue which allowed us to fully enjoy our visits to the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Rice Fields, the Tea Farm, the Panda Preserve, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Guilin. In addition, we enjoyed cruises down the Yangtze and Li Rivers.
We had never heard of Laurus Travel before last year, but we haven’t stopped bragging about them since our return!
Thank you for providing us with such a memorable experience!

What We Have Done to Ensure our China Tours Are Senior Friendly
To ensure our senior China tours are indeed senior-friendly, we have taken the following concrete measures:
Itineraries tailored to Senior Interests
Our senior China tours emphasize culture, history, fine food and other things seniors appreciate. We deliberately avoid activities only some young people would like, such as visiting manga shops or getting around mainly by public transit.
Physical Requirement Suitable for Seniors
We pace our tours so that seniors would find comfortable. You’d notice that on our China tours for seniors we make frequent washroom stops and take care to find the best route at scenic attractions to avoid challenging terrain. Immersive activities included do not require hard physical excretion.
Small Group Size
We keep our group size small (20 or less) so that we can give each guest adequate personal attention. In our experience, seniors would rather pay extra for more personal attention.
Comfortable Accommodations
The hotels chosen for our China tours are centrally located. They are comfortable and senior-friendly, with easy accessibility and amenities such as handrails, elevators, and non-slip surfaces.
Inclusion of Leisure Time & Avoiding One Night Stay
Downtime is scheduled here and there during the tour so that seniors can rest or explore at their own pace. Whenever possible, we avoid staying at a location just for one night to reduce the need for frequent packing and unpacking.
Clear Communication
We clearly communicate tour details, including daily schedules, activity levels, and physical requirements. Seniors appreciate knowing what to expect.
Those are some of the measures we have taken to ensure our China tours are senior-friendly. To learn more about senior China tour packages, please feel free to get in touch with us.
